Flash Developer

Compulsory skills:
• Excellent spoken and written English.
• Rich Internet application design using Flash
• XML Web services consumption using Flash
• Usability and interaction design
• ActionScript programming

The successful candidate will have experience in several of the following areas:
• Object Oriented design using UML
• Use Case Analysis
• Graphics design for websites
• Other graphics tools (FireWorks, Illustrator, Freehand, Photoshop)
• Website Layout
• Other markup languages (HTML, XHTML, XSL, etc.)
• Java programming – specifically JWSDP, Portlets, JSP, etc.
• Other programming – C++, PHP, Perl, C# etc.

Experience in the following areas will be advantageous but not necessary:
• High availability system design and programming
• Extreme programming (XP)
• RUP
• Macromedia Flex
• Flash Remoting


Flash UI designer/Art Director


Responsibilities: working closely with the Lead Flash Developer, the Flash UI designer/ART Director is responsible for building requirements and designing a full UI simulator for the rich internet application (RIA). This simulator will deliver the full experience using a static data set. The simulator will also interface with a limited number of web services to implement a single use case for the entire system.

The successful candidate will have experience in several of the following areas:
• ActionScript programming
• Supplier management
• Graphics design for websites

• XML Web services consumption using Flash
• Other markup languages (HTML, XHTML, XSL, etc.)
• Consumer website design and implementation
• Macromedia Flex

Lead Flash Developer


Working closely with the Flash UI designer/Art director, the Lead Flash Developer is be responsible for implementing a full UI simulator for the USC rich internet application (RIA). This simulator will deliver the full USC experience but from a static data set. The Simulator will also interface with a limited number of web services to implement a single use case. The Flash client will interface to USC’s server offering using XML web services and will support tens of millions of users performing hundreds of thousands of requests every hour. The Lead Flash Developer will also be expected to contribute to USC’s process and standards.

Educational requirements:
MS/BS degree in Computing Sciences or equivalent is preferred. Credit will be given for candidates who do not have relevant degrees but can demonstrate equivalent work experience.
